Perma-Bound Celebrates 65th Anniversary

HAPPY ANNIVERSARY! Perma-Bound was founded 65 years ago today in Jacksonville, Illinois. On that day in 1954, we were a family-owned book bindery; we continue to be family-owned today-and, though locally operated, serving markets throughout North America and Asia.

In the 1960s, we expanded to rebinding paperbacks for the library and curriculum markets, and we were the first company in the United States to offer laminated book covers, with our patented PUR binding-renowned for durability and recognized by the Library Binding Institute-creating library-bound books that last seven to ten times longer than ordinary paperbacks.

Today, 65 years later, we are proud to serve PreK-12 schools, school libraries, and public libraries through a variety of media. With over 3 million titles from more than 1,000 publishers, Perma-Bound offers strong title selection, comprehensive teaching materials, and a wide variety of educational software and electronic media, along with online catalog ordering, complete cataloging and processing, and collection development/analysis.

As we embark on our NEXT 65 years, we will continue to proudly provide “The Strongest Books You Can Buy.” Thank you for your support of Perma-Bound! #PermaBoundBooks #StrongestBooks #k12 #curriculum #library

Perma-Bound Exhibits at International Literacy Association Annual Conference

From July 15-17, Perma-Bound representatives participated in the International Literacy Association Annual Conference in Orlando. We had the opportunity to present our newest curriculum offerings, with a special focus on Red Rhino fiction and nonfiction titles in our premium Perma-Bound binding. The Red Rhino series features characters and topics that are age appropriate and have been designed to maintain consistency and readability throughout each title--making reading enjoyable and achievable. We also hosted author-illustrator Matt McElligott (Even Aliens Need Snacks), who signed free advance copies of our 2018 Author-Illustrator Birthday Calendar (he created the cover art!) for a few lucky attendees!
